A Distinguished Visit: Strengthening Agricultural Partnerships Between Iraq and Bulgaria

On June 3, 2025, Euro Investment Holding JSC had the distinct honor of hosting a prestigious delegation led by H.E. Mr. Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Iraq. Accompanying him were H.E. Mrs. Lina Omar, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Bulgaria, and Dr. Georgi Tahov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Eng. Muhanned Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euro Investment Holding, together with members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi, CEO of Balkan Agricultural Ltd., and Prof. Nidal Shaban.

The visit began at Balkan Agricultural Ltd., where the guests attended a detailed presentation highlighting the company's technological advancements and its role in the processing of tomatoes and production of fruit and vegetable concentrates. The delegation engaged in discussions about innovation, food security, and regional agricultural cooperation.

Following the presentation, the visitors were given a guided tour of the production facilities, offering them a firsthand look at the scale, sustainability, and operational excellence that define Balkan Agricultural.

The visit continued at the Producer Market – Pazardzhik JSC, Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market – Ognyanovo, a certified farmers’ platform that plays a key role in connecting local agricultural producers with major retail chains. The delegation commended the borsa’s transparent and efficient operations, as well as its role in supporting local farmers and rural economies.

To conclude the visit, the delegation was hosted at LÀCRIMA Dairy Industry, where they were graciously welcomed by Mrs. Rositsa Cherkezova, CEO of LÀCRIMA. A traditional Bulgarian lunch was served, featuring LÀCRIMA’s signature white and yellow cheeses, all made with premium local milk using time-honored methods.

This memorable visit underscores the importance of fostering international partnerships in agriculture and food industries. It also reflects the shared commitment of both nations to invest in sustainable practices, food innovation, and long-term collaboration.
